Users of various Linux distributions may encounter issues when attempting to use the Screen Sharing feature. The problem typically presents as an inability to select and share any monitors or applications within the app. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Log Out:  Start by logging out of your current session on the operating system.
  2. User Selection:  On the login screen, click on your username to prepare for a new login.
  3. Access Settings:
After selecting the username, look for a "Settings Gear" icon at the bottom right of the screen and click on it.

  4. Choose Xorg: In the menu that appears, select the option for the operating system that includes "Xorg."
  5. Log In Again:  Finally, log back into your user account.
Following these steps should rectify the screen sharing issue, allowing you to select and share screens or applications as intended.
